Gmail Airdrop

The Gmail Airdrop enables seamless migration of emails from Gmail into DevRev, offering both one-time imports and ongoing sync capabilities.

Supported objects

The following is a list of Gmail objects and their corresponding DevRev equivalents. Those marked as Sync to DevRev are eligible for import from Gmail to DevRev.

Import from Gmail

Follow the steps below to import from Gmail:

1. Go to the Marketplace, search for Gmail Airdrop in the Import category, and install.

2. Go to the Import section in your settings left nav.

3. Click +Import and select the Gmail logo.

4. In the Select Connection dropdown, choose Gmail.
   If a connection already exists, you can reuse it; otherwise, click Add Connection.
   In the connection modal, click Sign in with snap-in (with the Gmail icon), enter a connection name, and proceed to authorize via your Google account using OAuth.
   Provide the necessary permissions and click Continue to complete the setup.

5. Once the connection is established, select the email labels/folders you want to import and specify the DevRev part where imported emails should reside. This starts the bulk import.

DevRev attempts to automatically map email metadata and participants to DevRev fields. Some fields might require manual mapping.

The import time depends on the volume of emails being brought in and could range from seconds to hours. Once the import is complete, your emails will become part of the knowledge graph and be available in search context.

Post import options

After the import completes, you have the following options:

• Sync to DevRev

  This allows ongoing synchronization of new emails or updates to previously imported ones from Gmail into DevRev.

• View Report

  Review detailed logs and summaries of import and sync operations.

• Delete Import

  Remove imported emails and associated data from DevRev.

• Edit Connection

  Update connection settings used for future syncs or imports.

Sync to DevRev

To sync your Gmail inbox again and bring in updates or new emails:

1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Imports.
2. Locate your Gmail import.
3. Click the ⋮ > Sync Gmail to DevRev option.

Historical imports

To view all previous Gmail imports:

1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Imports.
2. Select the Gmail project.
3. Click ⋮ > View Report.

Periodic sync

Enable scheduled syncs to ensure Gmail remains in sync with DevRev:

1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Imports.
2. Find the Gmail integration.
3. Select ⋮ > Set Periodic Sync.

Enabling automation for synced items allows email-based triggers to initiate webhooks, Snap-ins, or notifications.

Delete import

To remove an import:

1. Go to Settings > Integrations > Imports.
2. Locate the Gmail import.
3. Select ⋮ > Delete Import.
